We’d love to have you become a part of the SCU community!
We offer a variety of services to help you get the most out of your credit union membership like share certificates, notary, insurance, safe deposit boxes and check ordering.
But before we get into all that, here’s what you need to know to get started with us.
Membership
First, let’s cover eligibility. All persons residing or employed in the Wisconsin counties of Manitowoc, Brown, Calumet, Door, Kewaunee, Sheboygan and/or all immediate family members of anyone residing or employed in the above counties is eligible to join Shipbuilders Credit Union.
To open an account, we’ll need you to stop in at one of our three locations with $5 and a photo ID with your current address. It’s that easy!
Notary
Notary services at Shipbuilders Credit Union are completely free to our members.
It is a quick and easy process:
- Appear in person with proper identification and the document that needs to be notarized. It is important to not sign your documents until you are in the presence of the notary.
- Our trained and certified notary will witness and verify your signature on the document.
We recommend that you call your branch for details as notary services can be limited and vary by state guidelines.

Safe Deposit Boxes
As a member of Shipbuilder’s credit union, you deserve peace of mind when it comes to protecting your valuable belongings. That’s why we offer safe deposit boxes as a secure storage solution for all your important items.
- Keep items like computer files, family heirlooms, jewelry, birth certificates and your valuable collections safe.
- Access your safe deposit box during branch hours and view your items privately.
- Keep an inventory of your safe deposit box items.
We offer safe deposit boxes in a variety of sizes to meet your specific storage needs:
- 3” x 3″ (Mishicot branch only, $15 annual fee)
- 3” x 5″ ($20 annual fee)
- 3” x 10″ ($30 annual fee)
- 10” x 10″ (Mishicot branch only, $40 annual fee)
Order Checks
Click the button below to easily customize and order new checks online. You’ll be redirected to a third-party site where you’ll have access to the checks you need, whether it’s for personal or business use. Your transaction will be secure, and your checks will be delivered directly to your doorstep.
